Information

Darling is a wide, light, airy slab serif. Commissioned by Moon Group for their 2011 rebrand of The Darling Hotel, it was designed to set comfortably as text and confidently for headlines. It started life as a literal digital interpretation of “Caractères Maigres” from the 1926 Deberny & Peignot Spécimen Général. The design process brought it gently up to date, influenced by the 70’s photosetting classic, ITC American Typewriter. Darling strikes a quiet balance between a plain skeleton and fanciful flourishes.
